For most of my life, I thought I understood my skin. It was oily and sensitive—but not reactive. I wasn’t breaking out, I wasn’t red or irritated, and I honestly believed that having oily skin meant I’d wrinkle less.

I used to say it all the time: “At least I won’t age as fast because my skin is oily.”

Well… here we are.

In my 50s, my skin is no longer oily the way it used to be. It’s drier. It feels thinner. It needs more care. And what surprised me the most is that it now actually tolerates stronger ingredients—like retinols—that I avoided for years because I assumed they’d be too harsh.

What no one really tells you is that your skin doesn’t just age—it changes. The products that worked for decades suddenly don’t. Makeup looks different on your face. Things that once felt effortless require a little more thought.

That realization was a big turning point for me.

EpicLight was created because my skin needed different things than it used to.
